LONG BRANCH: WHY START MY OWN SNIPER TRAINING BUSINESS?
1. Recognizing the Gap in Sniper Training
As I progressed in my career and became proficient in sniper operations, I had the privilege of attending multiple sniper courses, competing on the Marine Corps Rifle Team, and participating in national-level shooting competitions. I also had to rely on my skills during real-world operations. However, through these experiences, I quickly realized that much of what I was being taught was outdated, incorrect, or irrelevant in today’s tactical environment. It became clear that many of the lessons I received were simply rehashed information passed down without question. This realization sparked a desire to find a more effective way to train and think critically about sniper operations.
2. Taking Control of My Own Learning
Being a naturally hyper-analytical person, I wasn’t content with simply accepting the traditional methods that were being taught. I began to challenge what I had been learning and took it upon myself to teach and refine my skills through personal experimentation. By isolating variables and testing various techniques, I was able to directly connect the results to my personal understanding and experiences. This hands-on, self-directed approach allowed me to uncover what truly worked and gave me an edge in my profession.
3. The Science Behind Success
The key to my success as a sniper was rooted in not only practicing the fundamentals but in questioning assumptions and continuously evolving my approach. Through trial, error, and observation, I was able to distill sniper training into practical, evidence-based techniques. This empirical process allowed me to move beyond hearsay and "what worked for others," and instead rely on direct experience and measurable results. This level of self-discovery is what ultimately set me apart in the field and is the foundation of the training philosophy I now teach others.
4. Sharing What I Know
Now, with years of practical experience and a refined understanding of sniper operations, I am committed to sharing the true knowledge I’ve gained. I want to teach others not just what they "should" do, but what I know actually works. The goal is to empower my students with the skills and mindset necessary to excel as modern snipers—through methods that are grounded in real-world success, not outdated practices. This is the driving force behind the creation of Long Branch, a sniper training business that’s built on experience, evidence, and results.
